Jamestown Regional Medical Center’s Auxiliary is welcoming the new season with a fun event to fight cancer.

The annual Spring Bazaar is set for Friday, March 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Bazaar will be held at JRMC outside the Gift Shoppe. Shoppers will be able to choose from a variety of homemade crafts, baked items, used books and puzzles.

JRMC Volunteer Coordinator Mary Engels says the bazaar is on of her favorite events the auxiliary hosts because of the great quality of items, and of course, the baked goods.

“It’s great to see the community rally to support such a great cause, the JRMC Cancer Center,” said Engels. “The Gift Shoppe will also be starting its Easter promotion, where shoppers will be able to choose their discount from Easter eggs at time of purchase.”

Auxiliary member, Jeannette Srozinski said the event is a great opportunity to shop for unique handmade items like kitchen items, baby gifts, quilted items or handmade blankets.

“From unique handmade items to delicious baked goods, we are sure to have something for everyone,” Srozinski said.

All proceeds benefit the upcoming JRMC Cancer Center.

“Handmade crafts like these are hard to find in stores. The skills involved in making these items are incredible,” said Engels.

Last year’s event raised more than $800 for the JRMC Foundation, and to date the auxiliary alone has raised more than $55,000 for the upcoming JRMC Cancer Center. As of March 1, JRMC Foundation has raised $1.1 million of its $1.5 million Cancer Center Phase II goal.

The JRMC Auxiliary consists of more than 40 volunteers, and meets the first Monday of each month. If interested in volunteer opportunities, call (701) 952-4809.
