April is National Foot Health Month. JRMC is helping draw attention to the month by sharing common foot ailments and tips for promoting wellness from the ground up. Our feet bear the weight of our entire body and support us through our daily activities, so maintaining their health is vital to mobility and quality of life.

JRMC Podiatrist and Foot & Ankle Surgeon Dr. Kayla Emter will discuss common foot conditions like athlete’s foot, ingrown toenails, plantar fasciitis and bunions. She will also provide advice for keeping your feet healthy and avoiding injury. Proper foot care, supportive footwear and early diagnosis of foot problems are crucial to preventing long-term damage.

“Many people tend to neglect their foot health and only see a podiatrist when there is a serious problem,” said Dr. Emter. “However, by that point, there may already be permanent damage. Understanding how to properly care for your feet and recognize warning signs early on can make all the difference.”

JRMC U: Happy Feet is free, open to the public and includes a light lunch. Interested community members can RSVP by calling (701) 952-5301 or through the registration link at jrmcnd.com/U.
