Pit Stop Sports in Jamestown will host the 2nd Annual Angels & Saints Axe of Love Tournament on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

All proceeds will benefit families who experience infant loss through the Advocating for Neonatal Grief and Early Loss Support (ANGELS) fund. Dave and Dr. Mandy Sorlie and their family created the ANGELS fund in 2015 to cover medical costs at Jamestown Regional Medical Center for families who experience the loss of an infant during pregnancy. To date, 25 families have received support.

Last year’s tournament hosted over 60 attendees and raised over $8,000 for the ANGELS fund. This year, the goal is to surpass that amount and raise $10,000 or more to further aid families impacted by this difficult loss. New activities added for 2024 include a 50/50 Cornhole Tournament and a 50/50 Golf Simulator Challenge. Door prizes and cash drawings will also occur throughout the evening.

The tournament is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. on April 24 and includes axe throwing, food, cornhole, golf and more. Tickets are $100 per two-person team, including other sponsorships to choose from. Teams can select one of three 30-minute axe-throwing sessions. For others interested in supporting the cause but not in the games, dinner is being served for a free will donation.

WAYS TO SUPPORT THE ANGEL FUND:

  • event sponsorship
  • forming an Axe Throwing Team
  • entering the 50/50 Cornhole Tournament
  • competing in the 50/50 Golf Simulator Challenge

Individuals must be at least 16 years old to throw axes.
