The JRMC Foundation hosted its 27th annual Tree of Love remembrance celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the medical center’s Apple Basket Café. The event brought together families and friends for a heartfelt tribute, providing a meaningful way to honor and remember loved ones during the holiday season.
This cherished tradition featured nearly 200 delicate, heart-shaped glass ornaments placed on the holiday tree, each adorned with a bow and the name of a loved one. Attendees gathered for a time of reflection and comfort. Participants were encouraged to take their ornaments home as keepsakes.
“Tree of Love is an honored tradition that brings healing and connection to our community,” said Tonya Perkins, JRMC Foundation Director. “It’s so special to see families come together, sharing memories of their loved ones and finding comfort in the support of others.”
This year’s event was complemented by the holiday generosity of Farmers Union Insurance, which made a $20,000 matching pledge to the Foundation’s capital campaign. Every donation made in December will be matched, doubling support for JRMC’s capital campaign. Funds raised will help address key priorities, including purchasing an infant warmer for newborn care, upgrading the Hugs and Kisses pediatric security system and redesigning the emergency department registration area to enhance safety and security.
“The generosity of our partners and donors makes a significant difference,” Perkins said. “With the matching gift, every contribution—no matter the size—has twice the power to strengthen healthcare and honor those we love.”
For those who were unable to attend, ornaments can still be dedicated online or through the JRMC Foundation office.
