For the second year, Barb and Curt Togstad hosted a sold-out Designer Purse Bingo on April 27, raising $7,000 for their Togstad C.A.R.E. (Continue Aiding Recipients Affected by Cancer Evermore) Fund at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. The fund supports patients impacted by cancer with simple gestures to help ease a tough journey.

Inspired by the memory of Barb’s parents, Donald A. and Mildred E. Olson, the fund provides gas and restaurant gift cards to assist patients battling cancer. Attendees enjoyed dinner, several rounds of bingo and the opportunity to win designer purses and jewelry grab bags.
The event’s success demonstrates the community’s dedication to supporting those affected by cancer.

“My parents, Donald A. and Mildred E. Olson, were beacons of compassion in our community, always ready to lend a helping hand during times of need,” shared Barb Togstad. “By hosting this event, we strive to continue their legacy of compassion and carry on the spirit of giving they so beautifully exemplified.”

The funds raised from the Designer Purse Bingo will directly benefit community members currently undergoing cancer treatment.

“The Togstad C.A.R.E. fund allows us to provide extra assistance to patients during an especially difficult time in their lives,” said Tonya Perkins, JRMC Foundation Director. “We are incredibly grateful to Barb, Curt, event sponsors, volunteers and all who attended for their role in helping us fulfill our mission.”
