On September 25, the Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) Foundation hosted its first-ever formal gala, Pillars of Giving: A Night in the Garden. Attendees gathered to celebrate 25 years of philanthropy and the donors who help keep legendary healthcare close to home.
For more than two decades, the JRMC Foundation has hosted Pillars of Giving as a beloved tradition, recognizing donors and award winners who make its mission possible. In its 25th year, the Foundation elevated the experience, transforming the evening into an elegant gala, designed to connect with the Jamestown community while celebrating the generosity that strengthens care for patients and families at JRMC.
“After more than a year of planning, it was great to see this night come to life,” said Event and Service Coordinator Shayley Salisbury. “We are thankful for the opportunity to turn this event into something even more special. We have the best support, and it was wonderful to spend a night honoring our award winners while supporting legendary care.”
The Foundation recognized three individuals and organizations whose generosity and dedication ensure high-quality healthcare remains close to home:

Philanthropist of the Year: The Foundation honors an individual or couple for making a significant financial impact at JRMC. They posthumously awarded Shirley Rolfs Meidinger for her tremendous financial support of the Apple Basket Café and JRMC’s Hospice program. Through her contributions, Shirley sustained hospice services, supported team member education and provided essential documentation tools for staff.

Outstanding Seedling: This award recognizes individuals, families or groups who are just beginning their philanthropic journey with JRMC and have already demonstrated remarkable generosity. This year’s recipient, the Jamestown Volleyball Boosters, has raised more than $30,000 in just seven years to support women’s health and the JRMC Cancer Center.

Community Difference Partner of the Year: This spotlights an organization or community group who has gone above and beyond to support JRMC. The Foundation named Tara Kapp and Nicole Lemieux the Community Difference Partner of the Year for their work with Baskets, Bags & Bubbly. Deb Lee established the event in 2005, and since then it has grown tremendously, raising more than $50,000 in support of local cancer causes, including JRMC’s No Excuses program.
