Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) is now accepting nominations for its 2026 SHERO Award. This annual recognition honors local women who are inspiring, self-confident and impactful role models in their communities.
In celebration of Women’s Health Month, JRMC invites the public to nominate women who embody the SHERO spirit — those who uplift others, lead with heart and live with purpose.

Nominations are open through Friday, May 1. Submissions should explain what makes the nominee a role model and an inspiration to others. Nominees must be 18 years or older and reside in central North Dakota.
JRMC’s OB-GYN team will serve as the selection committee and review all nominations. A SHERO will be selected and honored in a special presentation mid-May. The recipient will also be featured on the JRMC website and social media channels throughout Women’s Health Month, inspiring others with her story.
“Over the years, the SHERO campaign has shone a light on women whose impact runs deep in our community,” said Makenzie Breitbach, nurse practitioner in the JRMC Specialty Clinic. “A SHERO is driven by talent, compassion and purpose. This is more than a title — it reflects a woman who leads with courage, lifts others up and serves with purpose.”
In 2025, Melissa Carmack, the Jamestown Public School District library assistant, was named the SHERO Award recipient for her unwavering commitment to education and her impact on countless students across the district. Carmack inspires the next generation with a love of learning and reading.
