Selecting health insurance plans can be ‘sticky.’ That’s why Jamestown Regional Medical Center is offering sweet rolls, spring rolls and other snacks to help educate individuals during the open enrollment period.

North Dakota’s open enrollment period begins Friday, Nov. 1 and ends Sunday, Dec. 15.  Medicare enrollment deadlines differ with ending Dec. 7.

JRMC will be holding two events regarding open enrollment – one catering towards a younger demographic going off their parents’ insurance plans and an event for those nearing Medicare.

“After a family member gets sick, the last thing you want to hear is, ‘I’m sorry, your insurance doesn’t cover that,” said Patient Access Manager Alison Kennison. “Our hope is to help people understand their insurance plans now, while they still have choices and before an emergency occurs.”

Turning 26? About to lose coverage from your parents’ insurance? Attend JRMC’s Open EnROLLment open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Babb’s’ Coffee House meeting room.

Close to retirement? Need to sign up for Medicare? JRMC is holding an Open EnROLLment open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Alfred Dickey Public Library lower level meeting room.

JRMC’s Open EnROLLment open houses offer opportunity ask JRMC experts about insurance and open enrollment-related questions.

“Our goal is to offer pressure-free guidance. JRMC doesn’t sell insurance or advocate for any certain brand,” Kennison said. “We simply want to help the community navigate the process of purchasing the best plan that fits their needs.”
