Jamestown Regional Medical Center is excited to announce the opening of its new Well-being Room, a dedicated space designed to enhance employee wellness and job satisfaction.
This tranquil retreat, made possible by the generous support of the JRMC Foundation and the vision of the JRMC Well-being Committee, reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering a positive and supportive work environment. Completed on Aug. 5, 2024, the Well-being Room is a direct response to employee feedback gathered through comprehensive wellness surveys.
“At JRMC, we are committed to supporting the resilience of our employees as they care for our community. We are thrilled to offer our new Well-being Room, providing comfort and much-deserved space for relaxation and rejuvenation,” said Tonya Perkins, JRMC Foundation Director.
The Well-being Room is thoughtfully designed to promote relaxation and mindfulness. It features a massage chair, a calming ambiance created by soft lighting and gentle airflow and amenities including a doorway barrier for privacy, updated décor and a yoga mat.
“Our employees are the heart of JRMC,” said Trisha Jungels, JRMC Chief Nursing Officer. “By providing a dedicated space for relaxation and stress reduction, we are investing in their overall health and happiness, which ultimately benefits our patients and the community we serve.”
Employees are encouraged to utilize the Well-being Room during their breaks for brief moments of respite, allowing them to clear their minds and recharge.
According to the Well-being committee, the project aims to enhance employees’ overall work experience and ensure they feel valued and supported every day. The committee is dedicated to planning, promoting and implementing wellness programs to improve employee health and reduce health risks. By fostering a culture of well-being, the committee seeks to elevate employee satisfaction and create a healthier workplace for all.
