Jamestown Regional Medical Center recently joined communities across the nation in celebrating National Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 21-27. The medical center uses the annual opportunity to honor the accomplishment of its volunteers, who dedicate their time and talents to supporting patients, staff and the overall mission of JRMC.
JRMC’s dedicated volunteers play a vital role throughout the medical center. They greet patients and families at the front desk, assist staff in the surgery center and rehabilitation departments, provide companionship and support to patients in hospice care, and contribute to programs like Telecare, Driven to Care, Gift Shoppe operations and the JRMC Auxiliary.
“Our volunteers are an integral part of the JRMC family and community. They generously donate their time and skills to enhance the patient experience in so many ways. We are extremely grateful for their service and commitment to our mission,” said Shayley Salisbury, volunteer coordinator at JRMC.
Volunteers log thousands of hours each year and touch countless lives with their compassion and kindness. In 2023 alone, 71 JRMC volunteers donated over 5,183 hours.
Volunteer Appreciation Week festivities at JRMC include a recognition banquet. The event celebrates volunteers who have demonstrated dedication, innovation, compassion and other outstanding contributions across various areas of service at JRMC.
Honorees include:
- Volunteer of the Year, Roxanne Mitzel
- Co-Auxilians of the Year, Betty Geigle and Mary Engels
- Legendary Volunteer of the Year, Alice Williams
JRMC congratulates all award recipients and thanks them for their remarkable service.
