Jamestown Regional Medical Center invites the community to join in a heartfelt tribute at its 27th annual Tree of Love remembrance celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m. in the JRMC Apple Basket Café. This long-standing tradition provides a meaningful way to honor and remember loved ones by placing a dedicated ornament on a holiday tree. The gathering brings families and friends together for reflection, comfort and shared memories.

Each year, approximately 200 ornaments are placed on the tree. These delicate, heart-shaped glass ornaments are adorned with a bow and the name of a loved one. Participants are welcome to take their ornaments home following the celebration, keeping the memory of their loved ones close.

“Tree of Love is a cherished tradition for our community,” said Tonya Perkins, JRMC Foundation Director. “It’s a time to honor the ones we hold dear while finding comfort and healing together. We welcome everyone to join us in this act of remembrance.”

This year, there is also a unique opportunity for the community to make an even greater impact. Thanks to a $20,000 matching gift from Farmers Union Insurance, every dollar donated in December will be matched – doubling the support for both the Tree of Love celebration and JRMC’s capital campaign. Donors may also choose to direct their contributions to specific funds, ensuring their gift supports the area they value most.

Current priorities in JRMC’s capital campaign include purchasing an infant warmer for newborn care, updating the Hugs and Kisses pediatric security system and redesigning the emergency department registration to enhance security.

“The generosity of our partners and community members means so much,” Perkins said. “With this matching gift, every donation – no matter the size – has twice the power to make a difference. Together, we can honor loved ones and strengthen healthcare for future generations.”

The Tree of Love remembrance celebration is free and open to all. The ceremony begins at 4 p.m. in the Apple Basket Café. For those unable to attend, ornaments can still be dedicated online or through the JRMC Foundation office.
