Jamestown Regional Medical Center was recently named one of the top 20 critical access hospitals (CAHs) for overall performance in the country. The Chartis Center for Rural Health determined that the top 20 CAHs, including JRMC, scored best among CAHs. The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) recently announced the rankings.
The top 20 CAHs have succeeded in overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance. JRMC was selected from the Chartis Center for Rural Health’s 2024 top 100 CAH list, released earlier this year.
“We are honored to be recognized among the top critical access hospitals in the country,” said JRMC President & CEO Mike Delfs. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers. We are committed to providing high-quality care and superior service to our community.”
Critical access hospitals like JRMC play a crucial role in providing essential healthcare services to rural communities across the U.S. The Performance Leadership Awards, developed by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, recognize top quartile performers on key market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge and finance analytics. The rankings are determined based on the results of the Hospital Strength INDEX®, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. INDEX data is compiled from public data sources, including CMS and financial records.
