Effective immediately, the JRMC Welcome Center will close on evenings and weekends. However, Jamestown Regional Medical Center remains open to patients, visitors and guests.
The Welcome Center will open at 5:45 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is not open on Saturdays and Sundays.
“We did this for the safety of our patients. Due to labor challenges, we do not have the resources to staff the main entrance. We want to ensure laboring moms and anyone having a medical event are cared for quickly and appropriately,” said JRMC’s Chief Nursing Officer Trisha Jungels.
The Emergency Department entrance remains open 24/7/365.
“We encourage patients and their visitors to use that entrance on evenings and weekends.”
Though the evening-and-weekend closure is indefinite, with hope, it is only temporary.
“As soon as staffing can accommodate, we will reopen the Welcome Center to its previous hours.”
