Jamestown Regional Medical Center recently announced that JRMC employees selected Pat Walter as the most recent Legend Award recipient.
The Legend Award is the most prestigious distinction for a JRMC employee. It recognizes employees who exceed expectations and make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
Walter is a Physician Assistant for Orthopedics at JRMC whose experience includes a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. Orthopedic Nurses Deb Reimers, Sarah Seefeldt, Shannon Hagan and Wendy Widman submitted his nomination.
They wrote in their nomination, “Pat is a provider who is always generous, selfless, kindhearted and makes a profound impact on all people.”
Since joining in 2016, Walter has become a pillar for JRMC’s Orthopedics team with his knowledge, leadership and guidance in supporting his patients and peers alike. His team emphasizes this, referring to him as their “go-to” for a multitude of reasons, saying he is never too busy to listen or give a helping hand.
Walter’s generosity does not end there. He is known for spending time with each patient, explaining conditions and diagnoses while working with them to create treatment plans to ease stress, often networking with colleagues to help patients receive the best possible treatment.
“He is incredibly deserving,” wrote Specialty Clinic Manager Mercede Fiebiger. “Our community is fortunate to have Pat so close to provide encompassing and holistic orthopedic care.”
Walter’s passion to go above and beyond in every interaction, whether it is with his peers or his patients, demonstrates how he is an incredible asset to JRMC and how he is THE difference in the lives of those he serves.
About the Legend Award
A legend is not created in a day. It takes consistent commitment to performing with selfless purpose. A legend commits every day — without concern for recognition — to being irreplaceable. JRMC employees nominate one another for the honor; voted on by the 350 medical center team members.
The purpose of the Legend Award is to inspire, motivate and capture the moments that define JRMC. The goal is to help employees and volunteers connect to the sense of purpose that brought them to the organization. This award is for employees who’ve made extreme efforts to benefit their patients and colleagues.
The Legend Award first began in 2012. Since then, employees have named more than 48 individuals as Legends and nominated nearly 150.
