JRMC President and CEO Mike Delfs of Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC), has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “146 rural hospital and health system presidents and CEOs to know” for 2026.
The annual recognition highlights healthcare leaders across the nation making significant contributions to rural healthcare through innovation, strategic leadership, workforce development and expanded access to quality care. Becker’s Hospital Review noted that rural healthcare executives play a critical role in strengthening communities while navigating evolving healthcare challenges.

With more than 30 years of healthcare experience, Delfs has built a career focused on innovation, strategic growth and advancing access to high-quality care in rural communities. Prior to joining JRMC, he served as a director, chief operating officer and chief executive officer within independent hospitals and integrated health systems. Becker’s also recognized his background in healthcare education, including teaching leadership coursework at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Under Delfs’ leadership, JRMC has continued advancing its mission to be “the best rural medical center in the nation for patients to receive care, employees to work and providers to practice.” The organization has earned several national recognitions, including being named a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital by the National Rural Health Association, a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by Chartis Center for Rural Health and a Pathway to Excellence® designated facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
