Jamestown Regional Medical Center is thrilled to announce the arrival of the first baby of 2025! Paxton Jo Peterson was born on New Year’s Day at 8:09 a.m., weighing 6 pounds 8 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches. Delivered by Dr. Mandy Sorlie, Paxton made an early entrance, arriving ahead of his anticipated due date of Jan. 10.
Paxton is the third son of proud parents Kelsey and Cody Peterson, who reside in LaMoure, ND. In a special family tradition, Cody wore the same “Best Dad Ever” t-shirt for Paxton’s birth that he wore during the deliveries of his other two sons, Asher and Aiken. Remarkably, all three boys were born in the same labor and delivery room at JRMC.
Adding to the New Year’s excitement, Cody himself was born on New Year’s Eve, just 22 minutes shy of being North Dakota’s 1989 Centennial Baby.
Big brothers Asher and Aiken are eagerly awaiting their new sibling at home, and the family is thrilled to welcome Paxton into their lives. After brainstorming other names that start with “A”, like “Axton,” the Peterson family opted to add a “P” for the perfect ring.
Family BirthPlace Manager Emily Woodley and her team extend a heartfelt congratulations to the Peterson family on their newest addition. “Nurses always look forward to welcoming the first baby of the new year with anticipation and excitement,” said Woodley.
