A night of fun and philanthropy brought the community together once again, as Barb and Curt Togstad hosted their third annual Designer Purse Bingo on April 24. The sold-out event raised $9,000 for the Togstad C.A.R.E. (Continue Aiding Recipients Affected by Cancer Evermore) Fund at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

The Togstad C.A.R.E. Fund, established in honor of Barb’s late parents, Donald A. and Mildred E. Olson, provides simple but meaningful support to cancer patients — such as gas cards and meal vouchers — helping ease the burdens of treatment.

Guests at the event enjoyed an evening of dinner, laughter and competitive bingo, vying for high-end designer purses and jewelry prizes. The generosity of attendees and sponsors made the evening a tremendous success.

“My parents lived their lives lifting others up,” said Barb Togstad. “Through this event, we are proud to carry on their tradition of kindness and community spirit.”

Proceeds from the evening will directly benefit local patients currently undergoing cancer care, offering comfort during some of their most challenging days.

“The Togstad C.A.R.E. Fund is an incredible way to show patients that they are not alone,” said Tonya Perkins, JRMC Foundation director. “We are so thankful to Barb, Curt, the volunteers, sponsors and all who attended for making such a heartfelt impact.”
