Balance and dizziness disorders are the leading cause of falls among people 65 and older in the United States. These falls cause more than 200,000 fractured hips a year. However, this disabling condition is not limited to the older population. The care for balance-related symptoms is highly specialized.

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo
If certain movements of your head cause vertigo (the sensation of spinning) you may be experiencing a symptom of an inner ear problem.

Direct Access to Physical Therapy
Direct Access for physical therapy provides patients the ability to receive services from a licensed physical therapist where and when he/she may choose, without having to first obtain a prescription or referral from a physician if their insurance allows. For more information on direct access, visit the physical therapy page.

Dry Needling
Dry needling inserts thin monofilament needles into the muscle. This releases shortened bands of muscles, decreases trigger point activity and reduces pain. It can benefit anyone dealing with pain, acute or chronic that is from a neurologic or muscular origin. No solution is injected, which is why the service is called “dry needling.” Dry needling is not covered by insurance and costs $30 for a 15 minute session.

Free Injury Screenings
If you have been hurt at work or play and you’re not sure if you should be seen by a physician, set up a free injury screening with JRMC Rehab.

Free Speech & Memory Screenings
If you or someone you know is having trouble with speech, language or memory, set up a free screen with JRMC Rehab.
