Comprehensive Care
JRMC Rehabilitation is the only adult rehab facility in Jamestown to offer physical, occupational and speech therapy. Our certified staff participates in ongoing training; ensuring we deliver the best knowledge, skill and care to meet your needs. Therapists at JRMC are all licensed and experienced in each of their respective fields. Our professional staff includes licensed physical therapists, licensed occupational therapists and a licensed speech-language pathologist. We work as a team with your surgeon, local physician and/or social worker beginning with pre-surgical care to outpatient services providing continuity of care for you.

AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill®
JRMC is one of only two AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmills in N.D. The advantage of this treadmill is its ability to allow you to be mobile at a fraction of your body weight. The AlterG is used to help recover from surgery, rehabilitate after an injury or maintain exercise in order to combat the diseases of aging.
Arthritis
There are more than 100 different types of arthritis. This painful condition creates stiffness and swelling in the joints and can affect people at any age. JRMC Rehab provides a wide assortment of tools and techniques that are used to offer comfort and return of function for the arthritic patient.
Balance and Dizziness
Balance and dizziness disorders are the leading cause of falls among people 65 and older in the United States. These falls cause more than 200,000 fractured hips a year. However, this disabling condition is not limited to the older population. The care for balance-related symptoms is highly specialized.
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo
If certain movements of your head cause vertigo (the sensation of spinning) you may be experiencing a symptom of an inner ear problem.
Direct Access to Physical Therapy
Direct Access for physical therapy provides patients the ability to receive services from a licensed physical therapist where and when he/she may choose, without having to first obtain a prescription or referral from a physician if their insurance allows. Dry Needling
Dry needling inserts thin monofilament needles into the muscle. This releases shortened bands of muscles, decreases trigger point activity and reduces pain. It can benefit anyone dealing with pain, acute or chronic that is from a neurologic or muscular origin. No solution is injected, which is why the service is called “dry needling.” Dry needling is not covered by insurance and costs $30 for a 15 minute session.

Hand Therapy
The specialized care of hand and upper extremity injuries is available at JRMC Rehab. Our occupational therapists are able to help with therapy and/or splinting so that recovery from injury is as quick as possible.
Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT)
Also known as the LOUD program, this therapy is specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease to improve vocal loudness and vocal quality that is often lost due to the progression of Parkinson’s Disease.
Lymphedema
Slowed or blocked movement of fluid through the lymphatic system is the cause of lymphedema. It may occur following surgery, radiation therapy, infection or trauma. Lymphedema can affect the arm, leg, neck, face or genitalia. Symptoms include swelling, heaviness, firmness, achiness or pain. Specialized therapy for reducing and managing lymphedema is available at JRMC.
Manual Therapy
Most therapies are a combination of modalities and hands-on techniques. The skilled art of hands-on therapy (manual therapy) is beneficial for increasing range of motion, blood supply and early muscle function. Learn more about occupational therapy and physical therapy.
Myofascial Release
The use of manual stimulation of the face and throat to decrease pain and/or improve voice and swallowing function is myofascial release. This therapy is used often for head and neck cancer patients.
Neurologic Conditions
Disease and injury to the neurological system can be life-altering. It is important for the therapist to have an understanding of how to influence the neurological system following an injury in order to obtain the best outcome. Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is a unique field of practice with special emphasis on the restoration of activities of daily living. Through the development of muscle function and the use of assistive devices, daily living activities become easier to perform. Orthopedic/Spine Care
The care and function of bones, muscles and joints require a unique understanding of motion and what demands that motion places on the body. Various therapies are available at JRMC for the care of muscles and joints. Injuries to these structures can be caused by work or recreation. JRMC Rehab staff includes experts in the care of joints and the muscles that surround them.
Pain Management
There are many factors that contribute to the onset and continuing occurrence of pain. JRMC Rehab works alongside your physician to provide unique, gentle and progressive therapies for the treatment of pain.

Post Surgical/Post Trauma Rehabilitation
JRMC Rehab staff has specialized training in post-surgical care. The care after a surgery or trauma is a critical healing time. The rehab staff works with the surgeon and/or physician to be able to modify the care process to meet specific restrictions or requirements that your condition requires.
Postural Restoration
We often attempt to influence the natural function of the human body with well-intended exercises or treatment methodologies that simply do not match up well with normal function. Postural Restoration is a very unique approach that recognizes the relationships of all systems within the human body and understands the needs to maintain those relationships during the therapy process.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy provides treatment for children and adults who have difficulties with speech, language, communication, voice and swallowing. Speech therapy at JRMC can support those who may suffer from stroke, swallowing difficulty, memory impairments, language delay, complications following head, neck and throat cancer, and complications following traumatic brain injury. Sports Medicine and Athletic Training
JRMC provides athletic training exclusively for Jamestown High School. Our athletic trainer works closely with the school nurse, physicians, local orthopedics and rehabilitation teams to help provide the student-athlete with the highest quality healthcare possible. Vertigo/Vestibular Rehabilitation
JRMC Rehab is equipped to care for the patient who suffers from vertigo or vestibular issues. Forty percent of the population over the age of 40 will experience symptoms dealing with dizziness. Many of these symptoms can be successfully treated with therapy.
Vital Stim
An FDA cleared method to promote swallowing through electrical stimulation. The goal of this method is to strengthen swallowing muscles and improve motor control of the swallow.
Women’s Health/Pelvic Floor Therapy
JRMC Rehab provides physical therapy evaluation and treatment for specific health needs of women. Treatment is available for pelvic floor dysfunction including pelvic pain, bladder or bowel leakage, voiding dysfunction, constipation, pregnancy and postpartum conditions, along with many others. We are fortunate to have well-trained therapists who are available to assist you in your treatment.
