Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) recently announced Nikki Mack as its most recent Legend Award recipient.

The Legend Award is the most prestigious distinction for a JRMC employee. The Legend Award recognizes employees who exceed expectations and are THE difference in the lives of those they serve.

Mack, a clinical coordinator in Home Health & Hospice, was nominated for JRMC’s Legend Award by occupational therapist Leann Ripplinger.

“Nikki is always very organized and efficient, helping staff and patients in any way possible,” Ripplinger wrote in her nomination. “Her leadership and calm approach is amazing.”

As a part of her role, Mack oversees patient care, ensuring quality and compliance. She coordinates care plans, manages clinical staff, conducts patient assessments and liaises with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes within the home setting.

Ripplinger recounted a particular encounter in her nomination in which Mack went above and beyond her usual role. While providing care to a family, Ripplinger witnessed Mack providing in-depth explanations, supporting the family’s spiritual needs and ensuring that all family members were cared for.

“She addresses the whole person – physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual – which is essential,” Ripplinger wrote. Mack even provided childcare for a grandchild present in the home to allow the adults to grieve together.

“Nikki’s hard work and dedication are a huge asset to our team,” said Kyla Stoltz, JRMC’s Home Health & Hospice manager. “Our team takes great pride in the services we offer our community, and Nikki’s willingness to go above and beyond demonstrates the level of care we strive to embody in each encounter.”

Mack’s display of kindness and compassion showcases her dedication to serving our community. These traits contributed to her peers’ selection of her as JRMC’s latest Legend.

About the Legend Award

A legend is not created in a day. It takes consistent commitment to performing with selfless purpose. A legend commits every day — without concern for recognition — to being irreplaceable. JRMC employees nominate one another for the honor; voted on by the 350 medical center team members.

The purpose of the Legend Award is to inspire, motivate and capture the moments that define JRMC. The goal is to help employees and volunteers connect to the sense of purpose that brought them to the organization. This award is for employees who’ve made extreme efforts to benefit their patients and colleagues.

The Legend Award first began in 2012. Since then, employees have named more than 50 individuals as Legends and nominated nearly 170.
