Jamestown Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Shawnee Hansen, a Certified Athletic Trainer.
In this role, Hansen will provide full-time athletic training services for Jamestown High School and Blue Jay varsity athletics through JRMC. This includes injury prevention protocols, consulting with coaches to optimize performance and treating athletic injuries immediately. Additionally, she will design and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured athletes under the guidance of a referring physician.
Shawnee Hansen, a native of Killdeer, North Dakota, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biomechanics from the University of Mary in 2022 and recently completed a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training. Her academic achievements and dedication to her field make her a valuable addition to the team.
“I look forward to opportunities to help prevent injuries, provide insights to enhance performance and build strong relationships within the Jamestown community through my work with students,” said Hansen. “I am grateful for the chance to engage with and support athletes here.”
JRMC’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine department holds the distinction of being “The Official Sports Medicine Team for Blue Jay Athletics.” Through this collaboration, JRMC and Jamestown Public Schools will work closely to ensure athletes receive the necessary training and care to compete at their highest level. All athletes will have access to the full range of services available at JRMC, including orthopedics and rehabilitation.
