JRMC’s monthly JRMC U program provides the community with accessible health education on various topics. JRMC’s lactation consultant, Mercede Fiebiger, BSN, RN, CLC and  OB/GYN nurse practitioner Makenzie Breitbach will teach the breastfeeding class. They will discuss the benefits of breastfeeding for both mom and baby, proper positioning and latch techniques, increasing milk supply and overcoming common challenges.

“Breastfeeding provides the perfect nutrition for babies and many benefits for mothers as well,” said Mercede Fiebiger, Manager of the Specialty Clinic at JRMC. “We want to empower new mothers with the knowledge and confidence they need to breastfeed successfully. This class is a great opportunity for them to get their questions answered and prepare for their breastfeeding journey.”

JRMC is committed to supporting new parents and giving babies the healthiest possible start. The benefits of breastfeeding are undeniable and it is important to ensure that all families have the resources to make informed choices. The expert staff is available to answer questions before, during and after pregnancy and following the birth of the little one.

The medical center recognizes that breastfeeding does not always go as planned and there are many valid reasons why a mother may choose to pump or supplement with formula exclusively. Whatever the circumstance, its goal is to help families navigate this journey with confidence and compassion.

Starting strong from day one sets the foundation for a lifetime of good health and well-being. Let JRMC help give the baby the best possible start.

The class is open to the first 40 individuals to register. Participants can reserve their spot by calling (701) 952-5301 or registering online at jrmcnd.com/U.
