February is heart health month. The human heart is the body’s hardest working muscle and Jamestown Regional Medical Center’s upcoming JRMC U is designed to help you take care of it.

“Love Your Ticker: Cracking the Code to a Healthy Heart” will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Two Rivers Activity Center.

The free class will be presented by JRMC Clinical Exercise Physiologists Madeline Ranum and Sydney Ellingson. The pair will discuss the medical center’s cardiac rehabilitation program, which helps individuals make positive lifestyle changes to diet, exercise and tobacco use after a heart disease diagnosis.

JRMC also recently relaunched its clinical supervised exercise program, Good Medicine. Good Medicine is held at the TRAC and provides a more social setting to share some common health goals with other attendees.

“A healthy heart is essential to overall health and longevity,” said Ranum. “Our JRMC U classes aim to empower people in our community to take control of their wellbeing through education and lifestyle changes. We look forward to sharing practical tips people can start using right away to strengthen their heart health.”

The presenters will provide an overview of the key factors that impact heart health, including warning signs of heart issues and risk factors like high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and get recommendations tailored to their individual needs and goals

JRMC U classes empower community members to make positive changes and invest in their health. Join us on Feb. 22 and take advantage of this free opportunity to learn more about heart health.
