Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) has been honored with three American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® awards, recognizing the medical center’s commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for coronary artery disease, Type 2 diabetes and stroke.
These awards reflect JRMC’s adherence to the latest clinical guidelines and best practices, leading to improved patient outcomes including fewer readmissions, shorter recovery times and more lives saved.
“We are proud to receive these awards as a reflection of the tireless efforts by our entire care team,” said Trisha Jungels, JRMC chief nursing officer. “This recognition underscores our commitment to ensuring every patient receives care rooted in the best available research.”

The American Heart Association acknowledged JRMC’s critical role in ensuring timely, high-quality care for patients in rural settings, where access to specialized services can be limited. The organization emphasized the importance of medical centers like JRMC in bridging healthcare equity gaps for Americans living outside urban areas.
“Patients and healthcare professionals in North Dakota face unique healthcare challenges and opportunities,” said Karen E. Joynt Maddox, M.D., MPH, co-author of the American Heart Association’s presidential advisory on rural health. “JRMC has furthered this important work to improve care for all Americans, regardless of where they live.”
JRMC’s recognition in three distinct categories highlights the medical center’s leadership in delivering comprehensive, person-centered care and its ongoing mission to keep excellence at the heart of rural health.
