Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) Vice President and CFO Derek Schaff has been named to Prairie Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 for 2025. This recognition demonstrates Schaff’s commitment to excellence and underscores JRMC’s dedication to delivering exceptional, community-focused healthcare.

For more than a decade, Prairie Business Magazine has recognized exceptional professionals across the Dakotas and western Minnesota with its 40 Under 40 issue. Recipients are selected based on community and peer nominations. JRMC is proud to celebrate Derek Schaff’s inclusion on this year’s list.

“Derek brings exceptional knowledge and expertise to everything he does,” said Mike Delfs, JRMC president and CEO. “In the constantly evolving world of healthcare, he stays ahead of industry changes and helps JRMC adapt and thrive.”

As the medical center’s vice president and CFO, Schaff leads the organization’s financial operations, a key element in providing the best patient-centered care. He also contributes statewide through roles with the North Dakota Association’s Health Trust, the North Dakota Healthcare Financial Management Association and committees within the Rough Rider High Value Network.

“Derek stands out for more than his financial acumen,” said Schaff’s nominator. “He is recognized for his collaborative spirit, mentorship of emerging healthcare leaders and his unwavering belief that small communities deserve big-city quality care.”

Since joining JRMC in July, Schaff has advanced key initiatives to grow services, strengthened financial strategies and partnered with teams across the organization. His contributions help ensure that JRMC remains a place where patients receive exceptional care and employees feel valued and empowered.

“Derek’s leadership is already making a meaningful impact,” said Casey Henderson, past chair of the JRMC Board. “This recognition affirms the strength of our team and reinforces our confidence that JRMC will continue to lead the way in delivering exceptional rural healthcare.”
