Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) welcomes Isabelle Green, licensed speech-language pathologist, to its rehabilitation team. Green’s addition will provide valuable treatment options for those seeking speech-language therapy — this may include patients who have experienced speech and language difficulty, swallowing issues and neurologic conditions such as stroke or brain injury.

Green, a Minnesota native, received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. She is also certified in LSVT LOUD®, an evidence-based treatment program designed to improved voice and speech in individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

After interviewing at the medical center, she recalls appreciating its excellence in both facility and culture.

“JRMC offers all of the big-city services while maintaining the small-town feel,” Green said. “All of the departments work so well together – it really feels like a community.”

Through her education and clinical practice, Green found her passion in helping adults regain their ability to communicate and improve their overall quality of life through speech-language pathology. She will be working with voice, memory or swallowing issues due to conditions such as stroke survivors or neurologic conditions. While JRMC has had several traveling speech-language pathologists in recent years, Green is looking forward to offering patients the consistency and stability of a full-time therapist.

“We’re thrilled to have Isabelle join our team,” said Tracy Anderson, JRMC rehabilitation manager. “Her expertise allows us to fully restore our speech-language services and meet the diverse needs of our patients — right here at JRMC.”

Green finds great satisfaction in seeing patients progress and improve after only a few sessions of therapy and encourages patients and caregivers to seek care.

“Communication is connection,” said Green. “Many older adults feel like they’re stuck in decline, but even small improvements can greatly enhance their lives. Helping someone reconnect with their loved ones or engage in daily life again is so fulfilling.”

The addition of a full-time speech-language pathologist strengthens JRMC’s rehabilitation team, as Green will be working alongside its occupational, physical and respiratory therapists. Occupational therapy works especially closely with speech-language therapy, as both involve walking patients through executive function tasks, such as following a recipe or planning daily activities.

Green is currently seeing patients at JRMC; however, a provider referral is required to begin speech-language therapy. Learn more about JRMC’s rehabilitation and speech-language pathology programs or make an appointment by calling JRMC Rehabilitation at (701) 952-4800.
