Wound Won't Heal?
JRMC’s Advanced Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center manages wounds that won’t heal.
For patients living with a chronic wound, everyday activities can be a battle. Without proper treatment, patients may suffer for years without any improvement, or even worse, may face amputation.
The JRMC Advanced Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center understands the challenges associated with chronic and non-chronic healing wounds. The center offers cutting-edge treatments, dedicated providers and specialists and the ability to work with dressing formularies – all to help wounds heal faster. The Wound Center sets its goal to heal patients in 16 weeks.
Featuring Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
JRMC is a member of the Healogics network, providing specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Healogics and its 600 partners treat more than 300,000 patients annually. In 20 years, those centers have healed more than 4 million wounds.
As the first hospital in North Dakota to offer a specialized wound center with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), JRMC provides advanced treatments that fight infections, heal wounds and treat conditions including radiation burns, graft failures and various ulcers.

Featuring Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Jamestown Regional Medical Center is also the first hospital in North Dakota to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). HBOT therapy helps fight infections, heal wounds and treat conditions including cyanide, radiation injury and chronic wounds.
HBOT also enables more infection-fighting white blood cells to reach affected areas. Most patients will require multiple treatments over several weeks to see full results.
Hyperbaric therapy is painless. Many people will sleep or watch TV during treatment, lasting one to two hours.
Facts About Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
- JRMC is the first hospital in North Dakota to offer this treatment.
- Most patients do not have claustrophobia. Once inside, patients can see in all directions and an attendant is always in the room.

This feeling is similar to landing in an airplane or diving to the bottom of a swimming pool.
Wound Center staff will instruct you on the different methods of relieving this ear pressure. - Side effects are rare but may include temporary vision changes. Patients should not change their eyewear prescription during or immediately after treatments.
- Most medical insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid cover hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
