What do you think makes JRMC such a nice place to have a baby?

At JRMC, you can stay close to home and receive personalized, top-notch care. Our team is committed to making your birthing experience comfortable and positive. If you are planning to grow your family, consider JRMC for a supportive environment.

What are the signs of labor, and how do I know when to go to the hospital?

Labor involves regular contractions that cause cervical changes. While you can time contractions at home, you will need an assessment to confirm cervical changes. I recommend coming to the hospital if you have intense contractions every 5 minutes for 2 hours, think your water broke or experience more than spotting. Signs like increased irregular contractions, loss of the mucus plug and the baby dropping lower can also indicate labor. If in doubt, contact JRMC for advice at (701) 952-4807.

What gets categorized as a high-risk pregnancy?

High-risk pregnancies include those with pre-existing conditions like obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure or issues that develop during pregnancy like pre-eclampsia. Multiple fetuses or fetal health concerns also classify as high-risk.

I really want to avoid a c-section; is there anything I can do to help?

Some c-sections are unavoidable, often due to issues like lack of dilation, the baby’s position or fetal distress. While there is no sure way to avoid a c-section, being patient during labor and moving around to help the baby get into position can help.

What kind of procedures do you do right in the clinic?

In our clinic, we perform ultrasounds, insert and remove contraceptive devices and conduct biopsies. We also remove abnormal cells from the cervix. JRMC offers a full range of in-clinic procedures to meet your needs.

What is polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)?

PCOS is a hormone imbalance that disrupts regular ovulation, leading to irregular or absent periods. The condition also causes small cysts to form on the ovaries and can lead to symptoms like excess hair growth and acne.

What symptom is most ignored by women?

Urinary incontinence is often overlooked, even though it is common and treatable. Pelvic floor exercises, guided by physical therapy are a first-line treatment. Fecal incontinence is even less discussed but also has effective treatments. If you are experiencing these issues, JRMC is here to help.
