Lucas Morken, Dakota Prairie High School Class of 2005
Job title & description: “I’m a physical therapist at JRMC. A physical therapist works to improve function and daily life for their patients. It is a challenging career that not only allows you to work directly with injuries after surgeries—for example, to the knee or shoulder—but also allows you to see them before surgery to possibly prevent a surgery. We have the opportunity to work with people one-on-one and really get to know them on a personal level, which helps us to get to the root of the problem and hopefully fix their issue that is limiting them.”
What brought you to JRMC?: “The location of Jamestown is what brought me here since it is a centralized location for my family and friends. I think that the friendly atmosphere of the community at JRMC is what is great about it since you won’t get that in bigger cities. I feel like I have had an impact on my work and on all of my patients since being here.”
What’s your advice to students starting school this fall?: “May the force be with you.”
