Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) was joined by the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, representatives from Holistic Pain Management (HPM), board members and staff on Feb. 25 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of its non-opioid pain management service line.

During the ceremony, JRMC President and CEO Mike Delfs and HPM CEO Ryan Shedd spoke about the value of offering pain management as a specialized service line at JRMC.

“The opportunity we have here to make an impact on patients is tremendous,” said Shedd. “Our goal at HPM is to provide a world-class experience for patients, our partners — like JRMC — and the community.”

Located within the JRMC Specialty Clinic and launched in partnership with HPM, JRMC Pain Management evaluates and treats chronic pain caused by arthritis, neck and spine conditions, neuropathy, migraines, cancer and post-surgical complications. At their initial visit, patients meet with Morgan Croves, nurse practitioner, for a consultation. Together, they develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to the patient’s specific needs.

As an opioid-free facility, the service line provides evidence-based treatment options including collaborative therapies, nerve blocks, targeted injections and other advanced interventional approaches. Procedures are performed onsite by a CRNA with advanced fellowship training in interventional pain management.

The addition of JRMC Pain Management allows the medical center to offer a level of care previously unavailable to the region and rare among rural communities. Established to meet a significant local need, this service will save patients both time and travel.

“We recognized a long-standing need in our community,” said Delfs. “We wanted to offer the most effective solution possible — one that does not rely on addictive prescriptions — and this service fulfills that commitment.”

Individuals may schedule their initial consultation directly through the JRMC Specialty Clinic, no provider referral is required.
