Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) kicked off the new year with a successful blood drive, reinforcing its commitment to community health. Partnering with Vitalant, JRMC’s Community Engagement Committee organized the event on Jan. 30, surpassing its collection goal of 35 products. A total of 45 donors, including JRMC employees and local residents, rolled up their sleeves to help save lives.
“The need for blood is constant, and donations like these directly impact patients in our region,” said Shayley Salisbury, a member of JRMC’s Community Engagement Committee. “We are grateful to our employees and community members who took the time to donate—it truly makes a difference.”

Blood donations are crucial for treating patients with cancer, trauma injuries and those undergoing surgeries. According to Vitalant, just one donation can help multiple patients in need. By hosting blood drives, JRMC aims to support this ongoing demand and provide an easy way for the community to give back.
JRMC plans to continue hosting blood drives with Vitalant throughout the year, with the next event scheduled for April. Community members interested in donating are encouraged to mark their calendars and consider making blood donation a regular habit.
