Job title & description: “I am the support services manager at JRMC. I direct the operations of environmental services, linen services and the grounds of JRMC. I work with infection control at every level of the facility from the process of manual cleaning through ensuring that we are in compliance with CMS requirements and Joint Comission standards. Our linen services team processes over 30,000 lbs. of linen a month and we have grown and expanded our services outside of JRMC, now providing linen processing services to Anne Carlsen Center of Jamestown, ND. Additionally, I get to work with some great contractors who help to keep the grounds of JRMC a beautiful place for patients, guests and employees to enjoy. Total Clean/Total Turf of Jamestown, ND, Parkview Nursery of Aberdeen, SD and Prairie Restorations of Moorhead, MN help me to keep the grounds of our facility healthy and lush. They provide a place for employees and guests to decompress.
The end result of the hard work and dedication from employees and contractors in all of these departments is a clean, safe and sanitary inside of JRMC and a relaxing outside of JRMC for everyone to enjoy.”
What brought you to JRMC?: “After years of working in the food and beverage industry, JRMC (then Jamestown Hospital) offered me an opportunity to take my career in a different direction. I have grown personally and professionally at JRMC and am grateful that I get to make a difference in the lives of people we serve everyday.”
What’s your advice to students starting school this fall?: “My advice to students starting school this year is to devour your high school years. Find the right activity for you and be active in it. Reach out to classmates that might not be in your ‘group’ and get to know them. Spend time with friends and celebrate the high school experience as it goes by way too fast!”
