Job title & description: “I’m the JRMC Home Health and Hospice Manager. I have the opportunity to ‘keep the wheels on the bus’ for my staff. I feel my primary responsibility is to ensure everyone has what they need to provide the very best care possible to our patients, to love their jobs, and to grow and develop in their role. This involves being available to assist staff when they need it, helping with patient care when we are stretched thin, ensuring we are in compliance with rules and regulations, and doing a large variety of other tasks that ensure and validate the quality of work we do, among other things.”
What brought you to JRMC?: “I was searching for a local nursing job as I was moving back to the area in 2013 and was interested in the new facility. I had heard about JRMC and the positive things were all true! A position had just opened in Home Health and Hospice as a staff nurse and it all fell into place from there. I had experience in a variety of nursing fields prior to coming to JRMC, and it didn’t take long to feel like I had found my niche in this field. Eventually, I transitioned into the manager position.”
What’s your advice to students starting school this fall?: “Take the time to figure out what you love, what interests you and keeps you challenged, and pursue it. Life is too short not to love what you do.”
