Caring for Others
Bailey Jo Bernstein was born November 15th, 2002, to Jon and Christy Bernstein. In her twenty short years, she made a permanent and loving impact on her family and everyone she called a friend. She graduated from Wahpeton High School in 2021.
Bailey pursued degrees in nursing and occupational therapy at the North Dakota State College of Science. Her desire to care for others influenced everything she did, from her job working with individuals with developmental disabilities to simply helping a friend. She was also a competitive athlete. She loved hockey, track and many other sports. She also had a passion for bow hunting and the outdoors.
Everyone that had the privilege of knowing Bailey knew how much she loved those around her and what a caring soul she had. Bailey’s life didn’t come to an end when she passed away in 2023. She was passionate about being an organ and tissue donor and her legacy lives on through the people who received her last selfless gift.
Bailey’s family wants to continue her legacy of caring for others through this scholarship. We know that the recipients of this scholarship will pursue careers that will reflect Bailey’s compassion and her drive to help others.
