Along with his doctor of medicine, Dr. Bates has masters degrees in philosophy and biology from Yale and masters of medical management from Carnegie Mellon University. Having practiced previously in Holland, Mich., Dr. Bates provides complete urological evaluation and care, with notable attention to communication, compassion and quality of care at JRMC.
Dr. Bates met his wife, Kathi, in high school. They have three children and several grandchildren. The pair love to hike and travel and are active in their church. Dr. Bates shared that he is in pursuit of the perfect woodworking project. He also has a passion for hunting upland birds with his pointing dog, Jack.
