SUMMARY:JRMC U: Total Joint Replacement
DESCRIPTION:The JRMC U: Total Joint Replacement is set for 11 a.m.\, Thursday\, March 16. The event will help people understand how to keep the musculoskeletal system healthy and when to consider surgery as an option\, said Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Michael T. Dean. \nIn his career\, Dr. Dean has replaced more than 5\,000 joints. \n“We hope to help people understand options for care of their bones\, muscles and joints\,” Dr. Dean said. “If total joint replacement is the best option\, we can help people understand what to expect before\, during and after surgery. We can also help them assess the pros and cons of surgery as well as treatment options instead of surgery.” \nJRMC Orthopedics specializes in diagnosing and treating bones\, joints\, ligaments\, tendons\, muscles and nerves. The specialty includes procedures such as total joint replacements of the hip\, knee and shoulder\, knee arthroscopy and fracture repair. \nThe event is free of charge and includes a light lunch. Membership at TRAC is not required to attend. \n\n

SUMMARY:JRMC U: Snoring and Sleep Apnea
DESCRIPTION:Snoring and sleep apnea impact the quality of life of an individual — and his or her family. \nThat’s why Ear\, Nose & Throat Physician Dr. C.P. Barton III is offering the in-person JRMC U: Snoring and Sleep Apnea on Thursday\, Jan. 12. \nDr. Barton joined JRMC in 2022. He has decades of experience\, serving babies\, children and adults. \nHe hopes to help people understand why snoring and sleep apnea occur and how they can manage them. \nJRMC U classes offered monthly\nJamestown Regional Medical Center offers virtual and in-person learning opportunities throughout the year. Called JRMC U\, these events help individuals make informed choices about their health. \n“We care about this community. If we can offer learning opportunities like JRMC U classes\, people can find a home-based solution for their needs. If home remedies don’t work\, individuals can at least know what treatment options are available\,” said JRMC President & CEO Mike Delfs. “Missing work and life to see a doctor can be a challenge\, so we want to remove as many barriers as we can.” \nThe ENT JRMC U is a chance for people to learn how to make the best decisions for themselves and their families\, Delfs said. \nLearn more about Ear\, Nose & Throat care.

SUMMARY:JRMC U: Care for Joint and Arthritis Pain
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now full for the JRMC U: Care for Joint and Arthritis Pain is set for 11 a.m.\, Thursday\, Dec. 1. The purpose of the event is to help people understand how to keep the musculoskeletal system as healthy as possible\, said Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner Crystal Krapp.  \nThis educational opportunity will help individuals in the community live their best lives. \n“We hope to help people understand what we do in orthopedics\, who we are and what they can do to manage their care at home\,” Krapp said. “If home remedies don’t work\, we can help people understand when it is time to see the doctor.” \nJRMC Orthopedics specializes in diagnosing and treating bones\, joints\, ligaments\, tendons\, muscles and nerves. The specialty includes procedures such as total joint replacements of the hip\, knee and shoulder\, knee arthroscopy and fracture repair. \nKrapp is a member of the comprehensive team\, which includes Orthopedic Surgeons Dr. Michael T. Dean and Dr. Timothy Volk and Physician Assistant Patrick Walter. Orthopedics also includes Podiatrists/Foot & Ankle Surgeons Drs. Kayla Emter and Rachael Renschler. \nJRMC U classes offered monthly\nJamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) is collaborating with Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) this year to offer monthly opportunities to learn (right from local providers!) about common health issues. Information like this is important because care of joint and arthritis issues can impact a person’s quality of life. Soreness and pain can get in the way of work\, family and the hobbies an individual loves. \nThough this event is full\, the next JRMC U: Snoring and Sleep Apnea is set for Thursday\, Jan. 12. It features Ear\, Nose & Throat Specialist Dr. C.P. Barton III. Register here for the ENT JRMC U. The next Orthopedics JRMC U is set for March. If interested in attending the March JRMC U: Total Joint Replacement\, email info@jrmcnd.com or call (701) 952-4795. \n  \n  \n
